A Joint Publication of the
American Industrial Hygiene Association and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists

Editor in Chief Search Information

By creating a joint journal, AIHA and ACGIH’s goal is to develop the strongest possible journal for the occupational hygiene profession that will become a top choice of authors here and internationally. The management and peer-review process for the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene Darvocet will be separate and independent of both associations, and the composition of the JOEH Editorial Review Board will be the responsibility and prerogative of the editor in chief.

Probably the most important determinant of future success for the journal will be the selection of the editor in chief. It needs to be someone who is prepared to make the necessary commitment and is a recognized occupational hygiene scientist. Do you have any ideas or suggestions you can share with us concerning who might be up to the challenge of EIC? Also, might you consider yourself to be a possible candidate for this position? If you are interested, our search committee would be pleased to have the opportunity to discuss and explore this possibility with you.

If you are interested in serving as the editor in chief of the new JOEH, or would like to nominate someone else as a candidate, please contact Scott Merkle at merkle@niehs.nih.gov or Tom Hall at tom-hall@ouhsc.edu. You may also contact Lisa Junker at AIHA at ljunker@aiha.org.
